11/01/24 DIY E-Sermon: Kabbala in the NEW TESTAMENT
post by gur dimei

These days there has been a lot of strife and bad-faith discourse between Christians and Jews. I wanted to write this sermon to do a kiruv between those two congregations. I wanted to write about the presence of ancient kabbalistic themes in the New Testament. It is mindblowing to the Jewish initiate reading through the Pauline or Johannine epistles, seeing so many kabbalistic concepts and mysteries unfolded. Let’s begin guys.

Christ comes in Water and Blood

I want to begin with a Zoharic section (Zohar 3:249) speaking of the coming of the 2 Christs – the Josephite Christ and the Davidic Christ. It goes like this:

When She [the Mother-of-God, symbolized by Doe] is pregnant and about to give-birth, She moans and raises Her voice, sound-after-sound [...] and The Holy Blessed One hears Her plea, and delivers upon Her one great serpent from the Mountains-of-Darkness. And the serpent comes through the mountains, wetting the earth, and arrives at the Doe, and bites Her in that place [the womb] Two Times. In the First Time, Blood springs and She is wet. In the Second Time, Water springs and all mountain-animals drink from it, and She unfolds and generates. And this is the mystery of “he hit the rock Two Times” [Numbers 20:11].

Any initiate who reads this verse understands what it’s talking about: the First Time, in which blood springs from the womb of Sophia, is the generation of the Josephite Christ, who comes by Blood and Judgment. The Second Time, in which water springs, is the generation of the Davidic Christ, who comes by Water and Love.
Those “Two Times” (תרי זמני) in which redemption unfolds are described by Lord Jacob Frank in his book of words (section 817):

I told you that there would be bloodshed, for it is first necessary that blood come and then water...

What is the meaning of the Two Christs? Why is there a need for 2 Christs and not just one? How are those Christs different from one another? The answers will be provided here. But first let’s get to the First Epistle of John, to see the ancient Christian gnostic allusion to this mystery. So does John-the-Evangelist word the matter (italicizations added by moi):

This man, Jesus the Messiah, is the one who came by water and blood – not with water only, but with water and with blood. The Spirit is the one who verifies this, because the Spirit is the truth. For there are three witnesses in heaven – the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit, and these three are one. And there are three witness on earth – the Spirit, the water, and the blood – and these three are one.

Only a person who has passed through a legitimate initiation will understand the mystery alluded to in here. Christ, who comes by water and blood, practically comes by Love and Judgment – mercury and sulphur, Prima Materia and Prima Forma, Baptism and Passover, Abel and Cain, moisture and warmth, wisdom and understanding.

The living-water with which Christ comes is wholly in the mystery of the Davidic or Judahite Christ – who brings Plenitude, Love, Growth and Vastness.

The blood with which Christ comes is wholly in the mystery of the Josephite or Ephraimite Christ – who informs the divine flow-of-eternities through Putrefaction and Distillation.

Water is totally in the mystery of Baptism, sperm, Love, seed, blessing, Life and Wisdom.

Blood is completely in the Paschal Mystery – bread-and-wine, flesh-and-blood – the participation of the Church in the Judgment of Christ Jesus – who is wholly in the mystery of the Josephite Christ, in his constructive passion and death. When passing through this judgment, the living-waters of Christ inseminate and fertilize the earth of Judgment, and bring-forth the fruition of Spirit.

Conclusions

So we have unfolded here the mystery of water-and-blood, which is alluded to in the First Epistle of John.
We have learned that the Fruit of Spirit flowers from the balanced “syzygy” of Father-and-Son, Passive-and-Active, Water-and-Blood, Wisdom-and-Understanding.
Hopefully more people will become aware of the affinities of Judaism and Christianity, the Rabbinic roots of John and Paul, and unite against our common islamic enemy. God bless Israel. Amen.
